What is Localisation?
Localisation is the process of adapting an existing product to account for cultural and linguistic differences when doing business in other countries and regions.
Localisation often involves language translation although it may also extend to other, non-linguistic aspects such as imagery, currency, addresses, phone numbers and date formats.
Why is Website Localisation Important?
Website Localisation is an important part of expanding your business to an international or intercultural audience as it helps to overcome language barriers as well as enabling your business to tailor its advertising toward the specific needs and wishes of these new markets.
Website localisation should be more than just a token gesture; properly implemented localisation should offer all customers the same high quality user experience regardless of linguistic and cultural differences.
How Can We Localise Our Website?
We understand the importance of having a reliable and scalable platform with which to manage parallel website content. Our localisation service can be integrated into your existing website with minimal adaptation required and once implemented our service is simple to maintain and cost effective.
What Can Your Service Offer Our Business?
We offer sub-second response times and support for in excess of 100,000 database entries per site (each of which could be anything from an individual image to an entire paragraph of text).
Our service is compatible with any existing website and our API offers full support for PHP and other server-side technologies such as: ASP, .NET, ColdFusion, JSP and more. For static HTML pages we also offer hooks into the API using JavaScript.
Is Integration Straightforward?
We offer full API documentation for all of the aforementioned server and client side technologies as well as code examples to assist developers with the upgrade process. Technical support is also available via email.
Will Localisation Slow Our Website Down?
Our sub-second response times ensure that localisation need not factor into the speed at which your website loads. Using client-side services such as JavaScript to access our localisation service may have a small impact on performance however this is entirely within your control as there are plenty of server-side alternatives available.
